Posted by admin on March 2, 2012 in Engagement Photo Session, Fine Art Photography, Lumen Wedding Blog, Wedding Photos | No Comments

Are you needing to book your photographer for your June wedding?

I am offering a special promotion for couples still looking for the right photographera complimentary engagement session to celebrate your upcoming wedding day.  The only hitch, your wedding needs to be during the month of June, ok? The session is valued at $250 and is a great way to have some fun in front of the camera and to get to know your photographer. (some people can be a little nervous!) You can use your engagement photos for last minute invites/reminders,  your personal wedding website and of course to be strewn around the house to be reminded of your love for one another.

Call me or email me for full details!

Prince Edward County Wedding

Posted by admin on September 15, 2011 in Fine Art Photography, Lake Ontario, Lumen Wedding Blog, Prince Edward County, Wedding Photos, Wedding Themes | No Comments

September 2nd my 1020 is Belleville/Picton Ontario. Settled about 100 years ago by Loyalists to the Crown this beautiful region of rural Canada is also the the date for a charming end of summer fall wedding. Its also been an opportunity to put my languishing blog to use and to start to show couples the little details of weddings you don’t often get to see in the the highlight reel galleries. So without further adieu I present John and Martine at the” Salon You” getting hair and nails done. Nothing like Starbucks and a manicure to wake you up in the morning!

Kiwi Cove Lodge – guys getting ready for the wedding

I would say that being a guy I get to have a lot of fun hanging with the fellas pre wedding ceremony. This was especially true at Ian and Melanie’s wedding at Kiwi Lake Lodge on Vancouver island. Its about the fun, the dressing up and getting into what ever is going on, and this location was pretty spectacular so that didn’t hurt either!

Agam and Juan

if you have spent some time on my site you’ll know I am a big fan of film, medium and large format cameras and analog printing as well. You need a special care with the old stuff but wow is it ever delicious. I have a couple of different series here of juan and agam and its the second where I had a little epiphany. I brought the camera into focus with a very shallow depth of field then moved the camera about 3 inches closer to them bringing them totally out of focus. (I had to do this with each shot) I had never tried this before because I have always felt soft focus techniques to look artificial and unreal. But on this occasion with the location the light the wardrobe the couple and the right film I though it might work it really brings them into a look and feel from another era, so gorgeous.
